Below are some initiatives / organisations that PPYC supports, both within New Zealand and our local area.

Five Reef Safe Sunscreens for NZ – PPYC supports the reef safe sunblock initiative, and encourages members to use sunscreens that are safe for the environment that we sail in.

Avon Heathcote Estuary Ihutai Trust – PPYC encourages members to get involved with this organisation, and to help out where they can to keep the area around the estuary free from pests, weeds and rubbish.

Sustainable Coastlines – run the litter intelligence programme regularly around the estuary.

Pest Free Banks Peninsula – This is the organisation that oversees the predator free programme for the Christchurch area, and we encourage members to get involved with this in their local areas.

Responsible Dog Ownership whilst Boating – While not directly applicable to our club, we encourage members who go boating with their dogs in other places to ensure that they know the rules and regulations, and to ensure they follow them to help protect the environment.
